Friday night Erin was so gracious to treat us to dinner at Anthony Bourdain's restaurant, Les Halles (http://www.leshalles.net/). It was incredible and Ryan said it was the best burger he's ever had. We even enjoyed the chocolate souffle for dessert. Words can't describe how melty, gooey, tasty is was. Thanks Tony!

Saturday we started the morning with breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien (http://www.lepainquotidien.com/) just across the street. The fresh fruit was so simple but perfect I had to take a picture.

Then we exercised our Project Runway fanatacism by going to Mood Fabrics and taking in the miles of fabric, buttons, ribbon and uphostery. From there we zipped back to see the matinee of Candide at New York City Opera (http://www.nycopera.com/browse/production.aspx?prod=61&gclid=CPrB7ZCM65ICFQ4aHgodSFQ_cQ) which was thuroughly enjoyed by all. It's inspired us to start a Candide book club. After that we took the Metro North train to Carmel to see Janine and Michael. They fed us a delicious meal of London Broil and fabulous potato salad. The apple crisp was the proverbial icing on the cake.

As we were riding the train back to the city, we were surprisingly in need of a late night snack. So, we took Erin to our favorite late night pedestrian food stop and New York institution, Grey's Papaya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray). 2 dogs and a papaya juice for $3.50 always seems perfect after 12am.

Sunday morning we got up early to make the 9:15am service at Redeemer. Another great message from Tim Keller and Ryan and I are really excited to get plugged in. From there we took Erin on a surprise birthday brunch at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill.

After we settled the great debate of breakfast or lunch food, we ordered prickly pear margaritas, which came in my favorite color: magenta.

So, as if we weren't full of enough food from our gastronomic exploits, we headed to the Bronx in search of authentic cannolis. Erin had heard about Arthur Avenue in the Bronx on a Food Network special and how it's a more authentic Little Italy than the one in Manhattan. Sure enough, we found a cute little area just off of the Fordham campus where all sorts of little pizzarias and Italian bakeries abound.

We snagged some fantastic cannolis and headed home so that Erin could make her flight out of JFK.
It was a busy fast weekend, but Moore fun than you'll ever know!
